Difference types of rag or raag in classical music

 All the                         traditional ragas of Hindustani Classical Music are based on, or a variation of ten basic Thaats (frameworks or musical scales) – Bhairav, Bilawal, Todi, Asavari, Kalyan, Khamaj, Poorvi, Marwa, Kafi, Bhairavi.

raga is a musical mode in the Indian classical music tradition used in an improvised performance. Modes are collections of musical notes coupled with rules about how those notes should be used. There are two main Western modes: major and minor. In India, there are over 300 ragas!
The list of ragas in Hindustani classical music. There is no exact count of ragas which are there in Indian classical music. Once ustad Vilayat Khan saheb in Sawai Gandharva Music Festival said before beginning his performance - "There are approximately about 4 lakh ragas in hindustani classical music. Many of them are repetitious but have different names.
